What?
[Wally thumps his elbow down on the bar and gives Dick his best glare. Right through those stupid sunglasses-at-night. Piercing.] Please. Okay- I'll give you that I was really kind of- I was a little rusty at it as a kid, but I've gotten so much better.
[They needed this. God, they needed this. Wally had finals in three weeks and he hasn't spoken to Dick in almost a month, which makes him feel both lost at sea and buried underground. They used to stay up all night texting like a couple of losers and Wally never, ever wanted to get to a point with Dick where that would be weird. Even if Dick is going through academy training (even wore his stupid trainee t-shirt to the bar) and he's working on his thesis. He doesn't ever want that to happen.
Dick is...Dick. Robin (even if he's Nightwing). His best friend. The guy he'd die for, die with, whatever.] I could probably pick up anybody in this bar.

Anybody?
[ Granted, it had been a while since he'd seen Wally's flirting skills in action. And he'd certainly gotten a little less... well, enthusiastic would be putting it kindly. And sure, KF had had his share of girlfriends, so he probably wasn't completely hopeless (right?). But still. Wally was Wally. Wally would be Wally forever. It was one of the constants of the universe. ]
That's quite the hypothesis.

[ Wally has to know what he's getting himself into here. It's him, after all. Dick glances around the bar, arching an eyebrow and tapping his index finger against his chin as he makes a show of considering his options, taking just enough time for a speedster to get impatient (and by now, Dick can time it right down to the second).
Then he looks back at Wally, blue eyes meeting green over the rims of his sunglasses as he grins that bright, sudden grin that means trouble. ]
Sweep me off my feet.
[ And Dick downs his shot. ]

And grins right back.] Dude. I said make it a challenge. I already romance you on a daily basis; you seriously think it'll be hard to do it when you're already half drunk?

[ Among the things that never change: the way they still bounce off each other just as easily (and sound just as mature) as they did when they were kids. Dick picks up his shot glass, but doesn't drink just yet. Jeez, he can't get too drunk when Wally isn't even really buzzed... ]

[ When he hasn't even finished the drink in his hand? Now THAT'S rude. The pressure is on! Ah, well... he knocks it back. Drunk might just happen sooner than he'd planned. He wonders if there's any chance that he's miraculously become less of a lightweight since he last got drunk. It could happen. Maybe. ]
Besides... [ He lowers his sunglasses, winking. ] I'd never lie to you.

[He folds his hands behind his head, turning in his stool in that fidgety way speedsters have that he knows Dick finds charming.] Besides, I can tell when you're lying. I know all your tells.
no subject
You only know the tells I let you know about.
[ Which is not even remotely true, but he grins like it is, nudging Wally's ankle with his foot as he contemplates that other shot. ]

[ Dick turns a little on his stool and kicks right back, laughing brightly as he calls, jokingly: ]
Oh, baaartender, five more shots for my friend, please!

[ Wally's getting a finger nipped, if that's how he's gonna be. Dick can't stop giggling, and okay, maybe he's a little drunk but not that drunk yet, right? Not as drunk as he feels, certainly. ]
Lies and slander. I'm drunk as like... 45% of a heck, at best.

That's such BS! Okay- fine, you know what? We're gonna play Never Have I Ever. And none of the obvious stuff that we both already know about the other guy! That's cheap. [Wally holds up four fingers and the bartender rolls his eyes and places four shots in front of them.]

Okay. [He arranges the shots artfully around them.] Never have I ever lost a game of chess.

[ He taps his finger thoughtfully against the rim of a glass. ]
